A fall restraint system effectively prevents a person from reaching a fall risk, while a fall arrest system is designed to minimize injury if a fall occurs. Both systems require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to address risks that cannot be entirely eliminated. This PPE may include safety harnesses, safety lanyards, and lifeline self-retracting retractable blocks, which are essential for the user’s safety at all times.
These important equipment, such as PPE for working at height, are effective only when used in conjunction with complete fall protection systems. These systems include anchor points, horizontal and vertical fall arrest systems, safety ladders, and confined space tripods with winch and davit arms. The retractable fall arrester blocks, known for their durability, are certified for ceiling, wall, and ground configurations. They feature an overspeed system that halts a fall quickly and an integrated energy absorption mechanism, ensuring that the maximum arrest force transmitted to the user does not exceed 6kN (1350lbs). The ultra-compact design of these blocks makes them user-friendly and particularly suitable for areas with limited fall clearance. When installed overhead, the retractable system offers added safety, and ground installation expands the user's reach from the Fallprotec lifeline, enhancing mobility and protection.
