Personal Protective Equipment

A fall restraint system is designed to keep individuals from reaching hazardous areas where falls might occur, while a fall arrest system aims to reduce injury in the event of a fall. Both systems require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to mitigate risks that cannot be entirely eliminated. This equipment may include safety harnesses, lanyards, and self-retracting lifelines, which are critical to ensuring the user's safety at all times.
PPE for working at height is only effective when integrated into comprehensive fall protection systems. These systems include anchor points, horizontal and vertical fall arrest systems, safety ladders, and confined space tripods with winches and davit arms. Retractable fall arrest blocks, known for their reliability, are certified for use in various configurations such as ceiling, wall, or ground. These blocks feature an overspeed mechanism that halts a fall quickly and an energy absorption system that limits the force transferred to the user to a maximum of 1800lbs (8kN). With their ultra-compact design, they are ideal for use in spaces with minimal fall clearance. Overhead installation adds an extra layer of protection, while ground installation with a Fallprotec lifeline enhances user mobility and safety.
